16-18 November: Black Teachers’ Conference 2018

16-18 November: Black Teachers’ Conference 2018 – Important Update

Black Teachers Conference flyer with date of conference and conference title. Images showing black teachers in action.Applications are now open for this year’s Black Teachers’ Conference, which will be held in Bristol. The Conference theme will be “Re-Claiming the Dream – Leading the Change Together”. The recent Windrush scandal and racist protests by the far-right reminds us all of the importance of having strong self-organised Black networks within our union to counter the toxic narrative of the far-right. This conference is the key platform for NEU Black members to articulate this counter narrative.
The application forms will be sent directly to your association/division secretary’s generic email address for authorisation and payment. Delegate fee is £354. This year we are moving the division authorisation form online to make the process easier for divisions; however hardcopy forms can be requested by contacting the equalities team. Members will not have a confirmed place until we receive the completed application form and payment from the association/division.
For any queries relating to the equality conferences please email equality@neu.org.uk

Closing date for the receipt of application is October 15th 2018

NEU Newham has a policy for equality conference applications. See Equality Page of this website. http://www.newhamteachers.org.uk/?page_id=1645
