Please note: This year the NTA Annual Election Count will not be taking place on this date at East Ham Town Hall. The election is being conducted through Electoral Reform Services. They will provide completed results.

Fidel Castro: book of condolence

In memory of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro the Cuba Solidarity Campaign has opened an online book of condolence. All messages will be passed on to the people of Cuba.

Rally: 18h30 Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street.

Plus a performance from the NUT Choir!

Encourage your colleagues and parents to join in!

Even if you are unable to arrive in time for the march you are encouraged to attend the rally.

Refugee Week Schools Poetry Competition 2017

As a result of the ongoing refugee crisis, Newham Teachers’ Association has decided to continue to run our Refugee Week Schools Competition for 2017. Please ask your HT to confirm that your school will take part. Details for the competition are available to download from our website. A letter has been sent to all HTs.

Portrait Of Five Children Having Fun Outdoors TogetherSchools can run the competition during Refugee Week 2017, 19th – 25th June, as either a class or home activity. However it can be run at any time before this to suit your school diary and curriculum . The entries for each phase should be judged by the end of the end of the week, 26th – 30th June, and the winning entries sent to be considered in the Newham competition ASAP by 4pm on 4th July 2017.

A local prize giving event will take place at in July to which winners and their parents will be invited.

NTA Elections: Ballot papers coming soon

ballot-paper-for-website_001-250pixThe ballot papers for the NTA 2016 NTA Elections will start to arrive at members’ home addresses from Wednesday 2nd November 2016.

If you have not received your ballot paper five days after the open of voting, you should contact ERS, simply stating your name, to request a duplicate paper to be sent out. To do this, you should either email them at:
